What can my professor track through Blended Teaching?
We are rolling out the ability for your professor to track three key things: (1) The concepts you've studied; (2) The amount of time you've spent studying those concepts; and (3) Your understanding of those concepts (i.e. your assessment results).
One of the key roles of your professor is to help you learn and evidence mastery of the key concepts of the course. To do this, they need to be able to see which concepts you've learned, the concepts you are yet to learn or are struggling with, and why. They can then more effectively help you learn what you need in order to pass the class with flying colors.
Blended Teaching provides the tools for professors to do just this. We are rolling out the ability for professors to see:
1. The concepts you have studied. This tells them which stage of the learning journey you are at, and identify which concepts you may need help with.
2. How much time you have spent studying. Professors can see the time you spend reading, watching videos, engaging with practice quizzes, doing assignments, graded quizzes and exams. The goal is for you to spend the minimum time required to fully understand the concepts. Much more is a waste (and you have a lot of other things to do!), and less means you won't sufficiently grasp the materials.
3. Your results of exams, quizzes, practice questions, etc. This allows professors to see which concepts you've nailed, and which you need more help with.
You will need to have ad blockers turned off. If ad blockers are switched on, your professor won't have this visibility and could lead to issues with you passing the class, or achieving your full grade. So make sure to switch them off in your browser. Just ask us for instructions on how to do this if you do not know. We'll let you know through the platform if there is an ad blocker switched on. If you don't hear from us about it, then don't worry.
