How to add Blended Teaching chapters into Canvas if you are fully integrated.
There are 2 types of setup with Blended Teaching. The first is "fully integrated", where the content appears directly inside Canvas and students are never taken out of Canvas to the Blended Teaching platform. The second setup is "linked", where students click on links inside of Canvas and are taken to the content stored on Blended Teaching. These instructions cover adding content in a fully integrated setup in Canvas.
1. Check for the BT App in Canvas. To add content you first need to ensure that the Blended Teaching App is available in your LMS. To do this, click on "settings" and go to the tab called "Apps". Then click on "View App Configurations". The page will show you a list of installed Apps in alphabetical order. Blended Teaching should be in that list. If not, we'll need to install Blended Teaching as an app. Click here for separate instructions on how to do that. If you see the App, carry on to step 2.
2. Add content from an External Tool. In the "Home" screen, go to the relevant module you would like to add the content to, and click the "+" button on the module. This will open a box asking you to "Add Item...". There is a dropdown menu near the top that says "Add" and then a dropdown menu that probably has pre-selected "Assignment". Cilck on this to open the dropdown menu and select "External Tool". It will give you a list of tools you can open (these are the Apps from step 1). Select Blended Teaching from the list of potential apps.
3. Choose the materials you want from Blended Teaching. At this point, you should be able to see your classbooks in a window on Canvas. Select the classbook that relates to the class you are adding content to. Once in, select chapters that you want to add. You can add them one at a time, or multiple at a time. It's up to you. Then click the "Add Chapters" button, and it will drop them into your Canvas.
4. Now move the content around, change any settings you want, and publish. Finally, now that the content is in Canvas, you can move it to the location you want, add any settings that are helpful, and if you're ready, publish it for us.
